How Fading Maize handles basic site analytics, messages, and launch updates.
What We Collect
Fading Maize is built to be a small, low-noise site. We do not need accounts, profiles, or invasive tracking to share the archive and the 2026 revival.
When analytics are enabled, we use a self-hosted Umami setup for lightweight analytics, such as page views, referrers, browser type, device type, and general location. That helps us understand what people are visiting without building personal dossiers.
A small sample of visits also uses Umami's session replay and heatmap features, which record on-page interactions like scrolling, taps, and clicks so we can see where the experience works or breaks. The site has no accounts or checkout forms, the data stays on our self-hosted analytics server, and we do not use it to identify or profile individual visitors.
When You Contact Us
If you reach out through our contact form, the submission is processed by Cognito Forms and delivered to us. We receive the information you choose to send, such as your name, email address, and message, and we use it to reply, keep track of rights or press requests, and handle normal project communication. Cognito Forms' own privacy practices apply to the form processing.
If we add a mailing list, merch checkout, or download gate later, this page will be updated before launch of that feature so the collection and purpose are clear.
Third-Party Services
Music, video, merch, payment, and streaming links may open services we do not control, such as YouTube, Bandcamp, or streaming platforms. Their privacy practices apply once you leave fadingmaize.com.
We keep outside services practical and intentional because this project should feel like a personal archive, not a surveillance machine.
Questions
For privacy questions, rights requests, or corrections, reach out through the contact page and we will get back to you.
